Word CONCEPT: An Analysis
Word meaning:

- an idea or invention to help sell or publicize a commodity:

- PHILOSOPHY
An idea or mental image which corresponds to some distinct entity or class of entities, or to its essential features, or determines the application of a term (especially a predicate), and thus plays a part in the use of reason or language.
Concept basically is an idea to some distinct entity.
Example: Beauty, Shelter
Beauty is a concept, and it varies from person to person. It is said that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. There are African tribes where men with big bellies are considered handsome. There are others who say a long neck is a sign of beauty. Slim girls are preferred by somebody, while heavy ones are the symbol of perfection for another.
Shelter- shelter is a structure or construction or natural means (caves ,Big trees) for protection from bad weather and wild animals.
Changes in concepts over time
Time spares no one. All the concepts over time keep changing. A cave was a concept of shelter in the initial stages of development when humans decided to settle. But now, in this 21st century, it is something beyond that. Shelter means a big building with temperature regulators, swimming pools, gymnasiums, and so on. The basic functions of a shelter being protection from nature, weather, and dangers from other animals, these extravagances certainly add up to its ambiance. However, if anyone is given a chance to live in a cave without electricity, it’s really going to be hard.
Many changes are appreciated (Slavery) and others rejected (especially in science). Some keep transforming with modernization and development of science (like Shelter, conveyance). Some fade off when new one develops (communication). Some concepts accept all different ideas (Beauty). Some hold their reputation even after new contrary ideas set in (Philosophy).
Merits
With experience, usage and over time concepts may be evaluated as good, right, true, bad or wrong
Concept Health
Health is also a concept. But here it’s really a serious one . You just can’t deal with it vaguely. It can’t be good, it can’t be bad, true, right, or wrong. It should be solid, the real one. It’s not something that keeps on changing with time, new knowledge, or succumb to money or power. If it does then I must say that we are dealing with a wrong idea or concept of health.
But Health is ones right and no imitations in the name of health is health and cannot be tolerated.
